Springfield police are investigating a number of thefts reported recently by residents.

Springfield police are investigating a number of thefts reported recently by residents.
A resident from the 200 block of Sunnybrook Road reported that sometime during the night of August 11Â someone entered his unlocked car and stole a Verizon Black-Berry cellular phone and a pair of sunglasses while the car was parked in the driveway of the home. The loss is valued in excess of $300.00.
A resident from the 300 Block of Indian Rock Drive reported that sometime during the night of August 12Â someone damaged numerous solar lights on the front yard of his home.

A resident from the 300 block of Sunnybrook Road reported that sometime during the night between August 11 and 12Â someone entered his unlocked car and stole a small amount of change from the center console while the car was parked on the street at the intersection of Bennett Rd. and Sunnybrook Rd.
A resident from the 900 Block of Westfield Road reported that he was awakened by a noise outside of his home in the early morning hours of August 15. When he turned on the exterior lights he observed a man inside of his car parked in the driveway of the home. The man was startled and fled the area on foot. The investigation showed a quantity of change was stolen from the car.

A resident from the 1000 block of West Avenue reported that sometime between 4:45 and 9:20 p.m. someone tried to force open the rear door of the home. It does not appear that the home had been entered. Â
