If Kids Ran the Springfield School District...
Fifth-graders oust members of the Springfield School District in a (very) friendly take-over.
Student leaders from Scenic Hills Elementary took over for members of the Springfield School Board during Thursday night's meeting.
It wasn't a hostile take-over it was by invitation of the school superintendent.
Following a presentation by fifth grade student leaders about all the programs and activities at Scenic Hills, Dr. James Capolupo asked Board members to relinquish their seats to the "future leaders" to let the students have a chance to try out being in charge.... at least for a few minutes.

It was a moment both the students and their smiling parents enjoyed. Board members were all smiles too as the students asked questions about how business is conducted.
Unlike the board members, the students got to go home at the end of their presentation. The school board members had several more agenda items to discuss and vote on before adjourning for the evening.
