Wallet Pinched in Produce Section, Police Say

A woman reports her wallet was stolen when she was distracted in a Springfield grocery store.

 

Springfield Police are investigating the case of an Aldan woman who reported that someone stole her wallet from a purse in her grocery cart at the Giant food store on Baltimore Pike on Friday.

Police say the woman reported she was shopping sometime around 3 p.m. when she was distracted by two men who started a conversation with her. The woman told police that her wallet was taken from a handbag in her shopping cart while she was in the produce section.

According to police: "the wallet contained various forms of identification, numerous credit cards, and a small amount of cash. The credit cards had been used at various local stores before the victim could cancel them."
