When is the First Day of School for Springfield?

Students beware and parents be aware: the first day of school is just about a month away.

According to the 2013-2014 Springfield School District calendar, the first day of school in the district is Tuesday, Sept. 3.

But don't worry kids there is a Community Picnic later that night at 5 p.m. at the high school on Sept. 3.

Here are a few other important Back to School dates.

New Student Orientation at 10 a.m. on Aug. 26 at the high school auditorium

New Student Orientation at 7 p.m. on Aug. 28 at Sabold Elementary: For students who attend Sabold Elementary and are new to Springfield School District.

Principal and Counselor Meet and Greet at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 29 at Sabold Elementary School: Parents and guardians of students who attend Sabold Elementary School are invited to come meet the new principal, Peter Brigg and the new guidance counselor, Ivy Harris.

New Families Breakfast at 8 a.m. on Sept. 10 at Springfield High School

Back to School Night for Grades 6, 7, 8 at 7 p.m. on Sept. 17 at E.T. Richardson Middle School
