Barn Sale Helps Mainline Kids

Life's Patina is having a weekend long barn sale at Willowbrook Farm at 1750 North Valley Road (across from the Vanguard School) in the Malvern Section of Tredyffrin Township.

Owner Meg Veno says some of the proceeds from the sale will go to help New Lead Club in Rosemomt. The club is a "non-profit education and youth center dedicated to assisting young people connect to their whole, healthy and artistic selves," according to a club brochure.

The barn sale runs Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunda from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. inside a magnificent 19th century barn on the property.  Vano is a designer who usually works out of her clients' homes but opens her barn/workshop four times a year for major weekend barn sales.

Veno says she travels the East Coast, scavenging barns, garage sales and other favorite places for items used in decorating. Many items incorporate barn doors, farm equipment parts to make unique and clever furniture.  

Willowbrook farm and the barn itself, which wwere featured in the 2012 Tredyffrin Historic House tour, are worth the trip.
