Candidate For Judge Speaking On Supreme Court Cases Tonight
Supreme Court cases will be Makenzie Smith's topic for a presentation tonight. Smith is running for a District Judge seat in Chester County.

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA — A candidate and challenger for Magisterial District Judge 15-1-02 will talk tonight live on social media about recent Supreme Court cases.
Mackenzie Smith said she will give a presentation on a selection of the most important cases from the Supreme Court's most recent term. The presentation will stream live on Smith's Facebook page Monday at 8 p.m. and viewers will be able to ask Smith questions in real time.
"I am an avid follower of the Supreme Court and have filed briefs with the Court, and I just wanted to use my platform to share my insights with anyone who might be interested. Anyone who follows my Facebook page will be able to view the event automatically," Smith said.

Smith runs against Judge Tom Tartaglio in Chester County Magisterial District 15-1-02, an area that includes Tredyffrin Township, Malvern, and West Chester. Tartaglio was appointed to the bench in 2008 and has since been elected twice.
Smith said, "It's critical that lower court judges have a thorough understanding of our Constitution and the legal system as a whole. Cases that end up at the Supreme Court sometimes start in the most local courts, even Magisterial District Court. That's why all judges should be legal experts, and I'm thrilled to be able to share a little bit of my expertise with the community tonight when I discuss cases dealing with free speech, healthcare, voting rights, and more."
