Carjacking Investigation In Devon Lands Detectives Commendations

TREDYFFRIN, PA — Detectives Michael Carsello and Thomas Spurlock received commendations this week for their investigative work that led to an arrest of a suspect for the Sept. 19 carjacking in the parking lot of Devon Square Shopping Center.

T. Michael Beaty, superintendent of police, said the hard work done by the detectives brought a swift conclusion to an incident that shocked the community for several weeks.

The victim had returned to his car after buying milk at 5:15 p.m. when he was robbed and carjacked, police said. The vehicle was later recovered in Philadelphia.

Siheem Walker, 21, of Philadelphia is in Chester County Prison awaiting trial on robbery of a motor vehicle and related charges.
