Christmas Fun Coming To Berwyn This Weekend

Saturday will feature the Artisan Holiday Market, while Sunday will feature "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" and the Berwyn Tree Lighting.

BERWYN, PA — This weekend, Berwyn will be filled with holiday fun.

Holiday events are planned for both Saturday and Sunday in Berwyn.

On Saturday, Bronze Plaza will host the Artisan Holiday Market. The market will run from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Bronze Plaza. Shoppers will find hand-picked vendors offering a variety of goods and wares.

Then at 2 p.m. Sunday, the Footlighters Theater will host a relaxed performance of "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever," written by Berwyn's own Barbara Robinson.

The relaxed performance is adjusted for audience members who may have diverse sensory and communication needs, including, but is not limited to, people under 6 years old, those with autism, ADD, and other sensory sensitivities.

According to the theater, Robinson adapted her original 1972 novel into a play which was first performed on Nov. 26, 1982, by the Seattle Children's Theatre.

A reception will be held in the Easttown Library at 12:30 p.m. before the performance, and will feature a chance to win a home visit from Santa Claus.

And finally at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, the Berwyn Train Station will host an ugly sweater contest, local dance and choir performances, and the ceremonial tree lighting. The event will also feature visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, hot chocolate, treat, and Action News noontime anchor John Paul.
