College-Bound Students Can Meet Academies

They are among the toughest colleges in the nation to get into and the demands once there are exceptionally high. The rewards are aslo big, not only for  students, but for the nation as well.

Representatives of the U.S. Military service academies will be in Wayne on Saturday, March 24 to meet with high school students interested in exploring a career in the armed services.

Candidates for the military academies are nominated by members of congress. U.S. Representative Patrick Meehan (R-PA7) is hosting the "Academy Day" on the campus of Valley Forge Military Academy (a private, non-government school).

U.S. Representative Patrick Meehan (PA-07) will host the 2012 Academy Day on Saturday, March 24 at 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Valley Forge Military Academy. All local high school students interested in learning more about attending one of the U.S. Service Academies are invited to attend.

Representatives from the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy will be in attendance. Academy Day allows for students and parents to get a better understanding of each service academy and the application process.
