Conestoga Crew’s Girls Freshman Quad Crowned SRAA National Champs

Three additional Conestoga boats reach SRAA finals in standout team performance

Conestoga Crew wrapped up its 2025 spring season with a commanding performance at the Scholastic Rowing Association of America (SRAA) National Championships, held on the Cooper River in New Jersey. With four boats advancing to finals and one crew earning a national title, Conestoga made a powerful statement at a regatta that has been a proving ground for elite scholastic rowers since 1935.

Freshman Girls Quad Captures National Championship

The headline moment of the weekend came from the Girls Freshman Quad (4x) — Emma Reiter, Maizy Jacobson, Letizia Martinez, and Hannah Grossman — who delivered a dominant performance to capture the SRAA National Championship, crossing the finish line with open water over the field. The win capped off a remarkable season and secured Conestoga’s latest national title.

“The girls in this Freshmen 4x boat deserve all the praise for the win they took home at SRAAs this past weekend. They have worked tremendously hard all season, and it has paid off in the month of May," said Coach Austin Burke. "They became Philadelphia City Champions on May 4th. They placed 2nd at The Stotesbury Cup after Finals were canceled due to weather conditions, and the placing was awarded based on the time trial results. They believed they could have won the final at Stotesbury if it had taken place, and I think that is what fueled them for the week leading up to SRAAs. Not many crews can do that, but the competitiveness, grit, and tenacity of this boat put them above all others. With another weekend of choppy conditions, they handled it better than every crew in the field and overpowered everyone to an exciting win, one that hasn’t been done in this event by Conestoga since 2015. They are Scholastic National Champions, and no one can take that away from them.”

Depth Across the Board: Three More Finalist Boats

The girls’ title was only part of the story. Three additional Conestoga boats advanced through competitive heats and semifinals to earn places in the SRAA finals — a testament to the program’s depth and consistency:

The Cooper River is one of the premier rowing courses in the country. The venue will be hosting the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Championships this weekend.

A Tradition of Excellence

The SRAA National Championships have long served as a benchmark for scholastic rowing success. Earning a spot in the finals is a testament to months — and often years — of early mornings, disciplined training, and relentless teamwork. Winning a national title etches a crew’s name into history.

With one boat crowned national champion and three others among the fastest in the country, Conestoga Crew once again proved it belongs among the nation’s top high school crew programs.
