Conestoga Crew Set to Compete at 98th Stotesbury Cup Regatta
The world's largest and oldest high school rowing competition

Conestoga High School’s rowing team is once again making waves on the Schuylkill River as they gear up for the 98th annual Stotesbury Cup Regatta, the world’s largest and oldest high school rowing competition. Held each May in Philadelphia, the prestigious event draws over 800 boats from over 160 schools across the United States and Canada.
This year, Conestoga will field a full slate of boats across multiple events, including senior, junior, and freshman categories. The team’s depth and competitive spirit have been displayed throughout the spring season, with standout performances at the Manny Flick series, the Philadelphia City Championships, and the Mid-Atlantic Youth Championships.
Conestoga Crew athletes commit to a rigorous training schedule, with daily after-school practices and early morning weekend sessions. They spend countless hours on the water, in the erg room, and in the gym, developing physical strength, mental toughness, and unity required to compete at the highest level.

“Stotes is an incredible event—it gives our athletes a chance to line up against a deep and competitive field while being part of one of the great traditions in scholastic rowing,” said Head Coach Bailey Chick. “We’re excited to see some new programs in the mix and to challenge ourselves to find another level of speed.”
The regatta kicks off Friday morning with time trials on the Schuylkill River, followed by semifinals later in the day. Finals will be held on Saturday, with thousands of spectators expected to line Kelly Drive to watch one of the city’s most iconic sporting events. The event is free and open to the public.
