DEVON, PA — The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair made a sizeable donation to Bryn Mawr Hospital during a celebratory event and check presentation recently.

On Dec. 6, Wayne W. Grafton, CEO and Chairman, Devon Horse Show and Country Fair, along with Country Fair Co-chairs Debbie Martin and Beth Previti, presented a $375,000 check to Barbara Wadsworth, Chief Operating Officer of Main Line Health and Cinda Johnson, Executive Director of Bryn Mawr Hospital Foundation.

This significant donation represents the third installment of a five-year, $2 million pledge made by the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair in support of Bryn Mawr Hospital's inpatient psychiatric unit.

The Show’s board members along with the Hospital’s leadership team celebrated their 128-year partnership during a donation reception at the Hospital's Pennypacker Rotunda on Dec. 6.

"It's an honor to be a longstanding contributor to Bryn Mawr Hospital," Grafton said. "The ability to present this check each year is directly tied to the success of our renowned equestrian event which is run by thousands of volunteers to whom we are grateful."

The 2024 event, which marked the 128th anniversary of the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair, drew more than 125,000 people over twelve days. Top equestrian competitors flocked to compete in Devon's prestigious FEI-rated Show, offering prize money over $1 million, and in return displayed the strongest attendance among Devon’s FEI-rated classes.

"Devon has been extremely generous towards Bryn Mawr Hospital for more than 100 years. Their extraordinary $2 million pledge towards our Seeing Through Capital Campaign supports the $35 million expansion and transformation of our behavioral health inpatient services," John Schwarz, President of Bryn Mawr Hospital, said. "Devon’s volunteers give of themselves year-round so that we can provide an enhanced experience for our patients and families."
