Early Spring Weather Keeps Money in TT Budget
A mild winter means some big savings for Tredyffrin Township.

Thursday's forecast calls for another sun-splashed day with temperatures in TE topping out near 70 degrees.
That translates to big savings for the Township's snow removal budget.
Tredyffrin Township Manager Mimi Gleason tells TE Patch that snow removal has cost $78,000 this winter. She says the township had budgeted $200,000 for snow removal costs over the winter.

The good news for the township goes beyond the $122,000 savings. Gleason says the mild winter has left public works employees free to work on things other than snow removal.
There have only been two snowfalls this season, one before winter even began. A Halloween weekend snow sent shivers down the spines of township officials who were concerned it was a harbinger of another expensive snow removal season ahead. The only other snow of any consequence was a small storm back in January that left less than two inches on the ground.

While March snow is not all that unusual, it appears unlikely for the next few days at least. The National Weather Service (NWS) forecast calls for temperatures near or above 70 degrees for the next seven days.
