Excessive Heat Warning Issued Through Friday

Heat index could reach 105 by Friday afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for Chester County and the entire region effective from 12 noon on Wednesday until 8 p.m. Friday.

The warning says the heat index (what the combination of heat and humidity will actually feel like could reach 100 degrees Wednesday afternon, 105 degrees on Thursday and 110 degrees on Friday. The oppressive conditions could also continue into Saturday, the weather service warned.

The warning says the combination of heat and humidity will create conditions that make heat-related illnesses likely. The weather service suggests staying out of the sun, drinking plenty of fluids and water and checking on relatives and neighbors. Pets should also be kept in a cool location with plenty of water.
