Firefighters Called to Toppers Spa in Devon

Firefighters say a towel being heated in a microwave oven caught fire, filling part of with smoke Wednesday afternoon. No one was injured but a couple of massages may have been cancelled as a result of the fire.

Berwyn Fire Company firefighters were called to the scene at the start of the afternoon rush hour. Traffic in the westbound lanes of Lancaster Ave was stopped for about ten minutes shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday.

The scene was cleared within 20 minutes and only a heavy smell of smoke lingered in part of the spa for a short time afterwards.
