Former Syms Building Up for Lease

What would you do with 54,732 square feet of space?

building is now on the market for lease. The store closed down at the end of 2011 and has been sitting empty.

Now the "for lease" sign is up at the driveway entrance. Patch calls to the leasing agents Monday for information on the cost of leasing or converting the building were not returned.

According to the sign, the building offers 54,732 square feet. By way of comparison, Ask.com says the average McDonald's restaurant in America is 4,000 square feet. The wings on a Boeing 747 cover 5,600 square feet, roughly one-tenth the size of the empty Syms retail space. While the space is huge in some comparison, it's tiny compared to the world's largest cruise ship, Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas covers 1.2 million square feet.
