Kampf on Corbett Budget: Wants to Study It

State Representative Warren Kampf holds off on commenting on specifics, but says that calls for increased state spending are "political grandstanding."

In this presidential election year, politics play an even bigger role in debates on Capitol Hill and Harrisburg that in non-election year budget discussions.

TE Patch asked State Representative Warren Kampf (R-157), who is seeking a second term in this year's election, for comments on Governor Corbett's $27.1b state budget proposal.

Kampf's office provided Patch with the following statement by Kampf about the Governor's 2012-2013 budget:

"The Governor continues to stand for responsible spending and fiscal constraint in tough economic times, which I agree with, but I will need to review the proposal in depth before I can make informed comment on specifics. 

I will say that those whose immediate reaction is to call for more spending refuse to admit the only way they can pay for it is to raise taxes on families, seniors and job creators who can't afford it. That is dishonest and political grandstanding."
