Tonight's Your Last Chance to Tell the Earned Income Tax Study Group What You Think

The EIT Study Group meets Thursday night to prepare its final presentation to the T/E School Board and the public.

If you want to be heard on a proposal to ito help close an anticipated budget gap of as much as $15 million in the T/E School District operating budget in the next five years, Thursday is your last chance before the proposal moves to the next step.

The proposal has b. The EIT Tax Study group has heard testimony from experts and the public and is now working on presenting its findings to the public and the school board. Those presentations are scheduled for 1p.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday November 3.

That is just five days before the November municipal elections.  The EIT proposal is a major issue not only in the School Board elections, but also in the supervisors races in both Tredyffrin and Easttown. All three bodies would need to sign off on putting a tax proposal to the voters before it could become a ballot referendum in the primary elections next spring.

If you want to be heard before the Tax Study Group presents its findings, tonight is your last chance. The meeting will be held from 7-9:30 p.m. at the T/E School District Administration office at 940 Valley Road.
