Martini's Italian Market Closing on March 31
A tough economy and slow summers are behind the decision.

Martini's Italian Market in the Paoli Village Shoppes is going out of business at the end of the month.
The DiMartini family, which owns the deli store and cafe, has a long history in the Upper Main Line restaurant business, dating back 70-plus years on the Upper Main Line.Â
The official announcement came on Martini's Facebook page Wednesday afternoon. The post reads: "The rumors are true: Martini's will be closing its doors on Saturday, March 31st. We are grateful for the support from many of our friends, customers and the community. This is a great time to take advantage of the store-wide sale happening now!!"

The store features pasta, sauces, olive oils and other italian specialties. Virtually all of the specialty items are imported from Italy. Sale prices posted on Wednesday ranged from 25-33% off.
Families members told TE Patch on Wednesday that business had dropped off over time, mostly they think because of the slumping economy.

The market opened in October 2010 and will close its doors for good on March 31. It is the third food service store in the Paoli Village Shoppes to throw in the towel. Last July Jake's Frozen Custard abruptly went out of business. Saxby's coffee went out of business on Christmas Eve.
