Melmark Artisans Exhibit at Flower Show

Melmark clients work all year long to grow, harvest, dry and arrange flowers for the nation's premiere flower show.

When the world famous Philadelphia Flower Show opens Sunday morning artisans from Melmark will be among the exhibitors hoping to score favor with the public-and the judges.

Melmark Spokeswoman Michelle Bradsher tells Patch "each year, members of The Meadows at Melmark work in the greenhouse in hopes of their plants making it into The Philadelphia Flower Show.  For over 10 years consecutively, Melmark clients have made it into the show.  Each year, Melmark participants place as well."

The Philadelphia Flower Show is open from 8 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Sunday and next Saturday and from 10 a.m.-9:30 p.m. during the week. The show closes next Sunday, March 11 (March 11 hours are 8 a.m.-6 p.m.).

The Berwyn school includes a full greenhouse and art center which includes a large garden.

Melmark clients literally create the arrangements displayed in the Phialdelphia Flower Show from the ground up. Seed planting begins in the spring, with harvesting, drying and arranging following throughout the year. Work for next year's flower show display will begin as soon as this year's show ends.
