New Restaurant 'Officially' Replacing Paddock
Real estate broker confirms who's moving into the space of the former Paddock at Devon and John Harvard's location.
The real estate broker who handled the sale to, and by, the owners of . Local restaurant chain Landmark America will be moving into the former Paddock building.
John Wilks of the Windsor Realty Group did not want to confirm the sale prior to the deal actually closing. That deal is closed and Wilks, who handled the transaction when The Paddock replaced John Harvard's in the same location, has issued a press release with details.
The new restaurant is expected to open sometime in the spring, after renovations are made and the liquor license transfer is completed.

Commercial Realtor John Wilks of The Windsor Realty Group, who was the listing agent for the seller, reports that the deal happened quickly . . . and that Landmark Americana was a capable buyer, with a concept well-suited to the location and market.
Wilks said of Landmark, “They are quality operators whose ‘upscale casual’ stores are on the large side - like The Paddock space - and they cater to a broad cross-section of clientele, with a varied, appetizing menu. I see businessmen/women and Main Line ladies/shoppers lunching there . . . a lively Bar Scene, with Happy Hours and late-night goings-on (The Paddock’s large Bar stays ! ) . . . and plenty of dining for everyone, including Main Line families and the Main Line community at large. They’ll be a great addition to the local scene.”
Dave Goldman - Landmark’s President and all around “point man” for new locations - commented that he looked at this new Main Line “Landmark Americana” location as becoming their “flagship” store. “It is truly a ‘Landmark’ location on the Main Line (no pun intended)” said Dave, “and we want to become a focal point of the community - the ‘welcoming place’ where people gather for good times, good food, and great memories.
Many neighborhoods/communities have that ‘go to’ place to which the locals naturally gravitate, and that’s where we see our niche on the Main Line - we want the Main Line to think of our Landmark Americana as ‘their place’ . . . kind of the ‘crossroads’ of food, spirits, ‘live’ social connectivity, and fun.”
Goldman also commented that they have some exciting renovations planned for portions of the space, including possibly opening up the existing banquet room to the rear of the Bar into a 4-seasons “deck type” of area . . . as well as possibly a different dining venue in the previous large banquet room in the back, which would have a separate menu. “We’ll also add a bunch more screens for better viewing throughout the main rooms, to supplement the large/main big-screen console above the Bar” he added.
When asked about a timeline to opening, Wilks said it should be within a couple months, once “phase 1” renovations are complete, and the liquor license is transferred.
