PennDOT: Lanes Closures in Upper Merion and Tredyffrin townships
Lane closures on Route 422 and North Gulph Road at night are part of a $117.9M Turnpike widening project.

KING OF PRUSSIA — Single lane closures are scheduled next week on Route 422 and North Gulph Road, Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County and Tredyffrin Township, Chester County for removal of deck beams from two Pennsylvania Turnpike overpasses, PennDOT announced today.
The work schedule and locations:
- Monday, March 7, from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following morning, alternating single lane closures will be in place on eastbound Route 422 between Route 202 and First Ave. interchanges;
- Tuesday, March 8, and Wednesday, March 9, from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following morning, alternating single lane closures will be in place on westbound Route 422 between Route 202 and First Ave. interchanges; and
- Thursday, March 10, from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following morning, alternating single lane closures will be in place on westbound North Gulph Road between Goddard Blvd. and First Ave.
Demolition continues the outside sections of the eastbound and westbound turnpike bridge over Route 422.

Road closure and detour
Starting March 8, Thomas Road will be closed at the turnpike bridge. Traffic will be detoured around the underpass via Gulph, Glenhardie and Walker roads for the start of a new overpass.

The $117.9M turnpike project calls for widening a 2-mile stretch from the Valley Forge Interchange at Route 422 and the Valley Forge OverPass in Tredyffrin Township. The project is scheduled to be complete in 2025.
Motorists should use caution and be prepared for slow or stopped traffic approaching these
areas. All work is weather permitting.
This work is part of a $117.9M Pennsylvania project to widen and improve the turnpike and its bridges between milepost 324 and milepost 326. More information is available at www.patpconstruction.com/mp324to326/home.aspx.
