Stamp Prices to Go Up This Month
The U.S. Postal Service is raising stamp prices.

Â
Now is a good time to stock up on forever stamps, because the cost of mailing a letter will increase 1 cent more starting January 27.
Right now, a stamp to mail a first-class letter of up to 1 oz. costs 45 cents if it goes through the U.S. Post Office.
If you’re using a 45 cent stamp to mail packages, you will need to add an additional 1 cent stamp after January 27, but forever stamps will be good regardless of postage increases now or in the future.
New Forever Stamp
The U.S. Postal Service is also unveiling a new kind of forever stamp. This one will allow customers to mail letters anywhere in the world. The price will be $1.10.
Postcard Postage Increase
The postage price for mailing a postcard will also go up 1 cent to 33 cents. They don’t have forever stamps to postcards.
Do you mail a lot of letters? Have email and online bill pay drastically reduced your use of the postal service? Will this postage increase push you toward online bill pay and more communication without the postal service? Share your opinion in the comments area below.
