Tredyffrin Public Library Receives $35,000 From Friends of Tredyffrin

The Friends of Tredyffrin Public Library presented a donation of $35,000 to Tredyffrin Public Library.

The Friends of Tredyffrin Public Library presented a donation of $35,000 to Tredyffrin Public Library during the Library Board of Trustees meeting at 7:30 pm on Thursday, December 7. The presentation took place in the library’s new Maker Space, which will open in early 2024 with support from the Friends of Tredyffrin Public Library and the McLean Contributionship.

The Friends of Tredyffrin Public Library’s $35,000 contribution includes $20,000 used to support adult, teen and children’s programming, plus an additional $15,000 for equipment and supplies in the exciting new Maker Space. The Friends also continued their support of the Museum Passes Program which began in 2016 and allows library card holders to visit over 20 venues in the area at no cost. In the past five years, the Friends organization has donated more than $200,000 to Tredyffrin Public Library.

The presentation began with celebratory cake and refreshments at 7:00 pm and continued when the meeting began at 7:30pm. The Board of Directors of the Friends attended along with guests from the Board of Supervisors of Tredyffrin Township and the community.

The Friends of Tredyffrin Public Library is a separate organization that raises funds and awareness for Tredyffrin Public Library. Members of the Friends volunteer in various capacities for the Red Fox Book Shop, which is the main vehicle by which the group raises the funds it donates to the Library. The Red Fox Book Shop sells used books in their shop, which is located on the lower level of Tredyffrin Public Library and open during library operating hours, and via their Amazon storefront.
