Tredyffrin taxpayers, get ready for trash-sticker shock.
The new hauler can charge as much as they want
Tredyffrin taxpayers, get ready for trash-sticker shock. The township is asking for bids for trash collection, and I suspect that there will be very few if any bids. Whoever gets the contract will know that they are in the driver's seat, and can charge as much as they want. White Tail is pulling out because they can't make enough money. Bolzenski is in the dumper because of the company that bought them who can't seem to hire enough workers to man the trucks, which seems odd as true unemployment rate is very high. It's very strange that the "free market" doesn't seem able to collect trash.
Add this to the township's ongoing list of failures: mismanaging the sewer system to the point that it will have to be re-done in a couple ofyears with a much higher sewer tax for us; enacting a bag tax that hurts consumers, businesses and the environment; enacting an unfair,
unnecessary and inequitable rain tax to pad the township's coffers for all their pet pipe-dream projects.

I think the stupervisors are jealous of the school board's raising taxesfor 19 straight years to support the bloated roster of unnecessary and useless administrators.
Competent supervisors would cut taxes 10% at once, and cut the tax by 2%per year for 10 years. In other words, run the township like we have to run our own homes: on a budget. When times are tough you CUT BACK expenses. Seniors are being priced out of their homes. Why no hue and cry about that?
