Tredyffrin Twp. Allocates $3.1 M In American Rescue Plan Funds
American Rescue Plan funds in Tredyffrin Township will go to stormwater infrastructure projects and fire companies.
TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA — More than half of $3.1 million in American Rescue Plan funding for Tredyffrin Township will be spent on stormwater infrastructure, and a large portion will go to Berwyn, Paoli, and Radnor fire companies, the township board decided recently.
The Tredyffrin Township Board of Supervisors on July 19 voted unanimously to approve the allocation of $3,076,856 in American Rescue Plan (ARP) Funding. Half of the funds were received in late June, and the balance will be received next year, the Township said. Under the ARP program, the Township has until 2024 to spend the funds.
"This is a wonderful opportunity to make an immediate investment into the Township to address
important funding needs — such as stormwater infrastructure, supporting our Fire Companies –
Berwyn, Paoli, and Radnor — as well making much-needed park improvements," said Township Supervisor Matt Holt after the meeting.

The Township plans to provide $750,000 directly to the fire companies that serve the Township
with their entire share to be paid within the next few months. These funds will go to support the
fire companies’ capital equipment and infrastructure needs.
Over $1,750,000 will be allocated to support stormwater and MS4 related projects. Like many communities in Southeastern Pennsylvania, Tredyffrin Township has been working to find alternative financial support to address flooding and stormwater issues.

"Tredyffrin Township is committed to long-term funding for stormwater management. We have
been working with the Citizens Stormwater Task Force over the last year to identify projects and
examine how we might best fund stormwater management costs in the future. This ARP money
could not have come at a better time. We now have more resources available to help us tackle
our important stormwater projects," Township Board Chair Murph Wysocki pointed out.
In addition, $475,000 will be directed to support park upgrades at Mazie B. Hall, Strafford, and
Teegarden Parks.
"Having these monies available to go to our Parks will allow us to make much-needed
improvements for our residents and park users. This will include equipment upgrades, such as
swings and playsets, as well as facility upgrades, such as a comfort station and parking
improvements," said Township Supervisor Dr. Julie Gosse.
