Volunteers Sought For Various Easttown Township Advisory Boards

Positions need to be filled on the Board of Supervisors Vacancy Board, Easttown Municipal Authority, and more Easttown advisory boards.

EASTTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Easttown Township is looking for civic-minded, qualified citizens to serve on various advisory boards.

Volunteers are sought for upcoming vacant positions on these advisory boards, and interested candidates must be a resident of the township and have availability for regular meetings.

All terms begin after being appointed by the Board of Supervisors.

Interested residents can submit a letter of interest and resume to Susan Greene, Assistant to the Township Manager, at sgreene@easttown.org by Monday, Nov. 4.

Board of Supervisors Vacancy Board Chair

One (1) seat available – Term Expiration: Dec. 31, 2025
The purpose of the Board of Supervisors Vacancy Board (Vacancy Board) is set forth by the Second Class Township Code and consists of the Board of Supervisors and one elector of the Township, who shall act as Chair of the Vacancy Board. The purpose of this Chair position is to fill a vacancy in the event that the Board of Supervisors is unable to reach a decision on who should fill that vacancy.

Easttown Citizen’s Advisory Committee (ECAC)

Meets the second Monday of each month at 6:15 p.m.
Two (2) seats available – Term Expirations: Dec. 31, 2027

As an advisory body, ECAC’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, evaluating and making recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on matters that improve the financial position and operational effectiveness of the Township. Easttown Municipal Authority (EMA)

Meets the second Tuesday of each month
One (1) seat available – Term Expiration: Dec. 31, 2029

The EMA’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the finance, planning, improvement and operation of specific public works projects. For more information, visit https://ecode360.com/15293329.

Emergency Management Coordinator (EMC)

One (1) seat available – Term Expiration: Dec. 31, 2025
The EMC sits on the Emergency Management Organization (EMO), which is responsible for emergency management, response and recovery within the Township and consists of representatives from the Township, Berwyn and Paoli Fire Companies, and the Tredyffrin/Easttown School District. The EMC should be capable of planning and effecting coordination among the operating agencies, and controlling coordinated operations with the Township.

Environmental Advisory Council (EAC)

Meets the fourth Thursday of each month
Two (2) seats available – Term Expirations: Dec. 31, 2027

As an advisory body, the EAC evaluates and assists the Board of Supervisors on matters dealing with the protection, conservation, management, promotion and use of natural resources within the Township. For more information, visit https://ecode360.com/40159254.

Historical Commission (HC)

Meets the second Wednesday of each month
Two (2) seats available – Term Expirations: Dec. 31, 2027

As an advisory body, the HC provides historical preservation information to residents and makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on the rehabilitation, preservation, adaptive reuse, restoration, and acquisition of significant historical structures and sites. Library Board of Trustees

Meets the fourth Wednesday of each month
Two (2) seats available – Term Expirations: Dec. 31, 2027

As an advisory body, the Library Board oversees the efficient operation of the Easttown Library by establishing policies and long-term goals, initiating and overseeing the budget process, and promoting and advocating for the library in the community.

Planning Commission (PC)

Meets the first Tuesday of each month
One (1) seat available – Term Expiration: Dec. 31, 2028

As an advisory body, the PC makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on all land development and subdivision applications that are submitted to the Township. The PC also plays an important role in developing and implementing the Township’s Comprehensive Plan, as well as keeping the Zoning and Subdivision and Land Development Codes up to date and in compliance with Pennsylvania’s Municipalities Planning Code. Stormwater Management Advisory Committee (SMAC)

Meets the fourth Tuesday of each month
Two (2) available terms – Term Expirations: Dec. 31, 2026

As an advisory body, the SMAC makes observations, analyses and recommendations to the Board of Supervisors to improve the effectiveness and operation of stormwater management in the Township. For more information, visit https://ecode360.com/40159594.

Zoning Hearing Board (ZHB)

Meets the third Thursday of each month
Two (2) available terms (one primary; one alternate) – Term Expirations: Dec. 31, 2027

The ZHB’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, hearing and deciding on: substantive challenges to the validity of any land use ordinance (except those brought before the Board of Supervisors); appeals from Zoning Officer and Township Engineer determinations regarding zoning and floodplain management regulations; and variances and special exceptions from zoning and floodplain management regulations.
