What's Closed for the MLK Holiday

The federal Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday falls on the third Monday of January each year, around the time of King's birthday, Jan. 15.

Here's what's closed on this Martin Luther King Day.

• Government offices–The Tredyffrin Township Municipal Building and the Easttown Township Municipal Buildings will be closed as well as federal offices and Chester County offices. 
• Banks–Many banks in the area will be closed for the day. 
• Schools–Schools in the T/E Schoold District will be closed for the Monday holiday.
• Trash/Recylcing pick-up–Trash WILL be collected on the regular Monday schedule in Easttown. Tredyffrin residents should check with their trash collection company.
• Post offices–All post offices will be closed in observance of the holiday.
• Transportation–SEPTA will operate on a regular weekday schedule. Driver's license photo centers will be closed.
