Wiggles & Giggles Welcome at Church
At Saint Luke, all are welcome. No exceptions- and that includes kids!

At Saint Luke, all are welcome. No exceptions- and that includes kids! Children are celebrated and are considered invaluable members of our community. We desire to be a place where the next generation can strengthen their relationship with God, with caring adults, and with each other. We recognize that each family is unique and has varying needs. With that in mind, we offer a variety of opportunities for kids to grow and engage with their faith.

First and foremost, kids are always welcome in worship at Saint Luke. During the worship service children are invited to the front for a children’s message designed just for them! It is a favorite part of the service for many of our younger worshippers. Additionally, the PrayGround is an area set aside in the sanctuary for those with young children, ages 0-3, where children can engage in quiet play while experiencing worship with their families. The PrayGround is perfect for families that desire to worship together, as well as for children that may be nervous being away from their family during service. Wiggles and giggles are welcome! We love hearing little ones during worship. Parent, Gretchen DiSciascio knows that young families may feel uncertain if there is a place for their family at church. She soothes their fears and encourages, “Just come. However you are, whatever you've got, just come. Especially young families. Our two year old tries to run up the aisle to his dad in the choir loft almost every week, my baby decides that she is starving and needs to scream her head off in the middle of the prayers, and I never get a single dirty look. Someone always helps corral the toddler if he gets away from me, shakes his hand when we share the peace, and tells me how glad they are to see us this morning. Everyone really is welcome at Saint Luke.”
Our kids ministry, Saint Luke Kids is a “Place Where Kids Learn About Jesus On Their Level,” but it is even more than that. Saint Luke Kids aims to also support parents in the meaningful and challenging work of raising children. We share encouragement, prayers, resources and ideas to engage and explore faith with your kids, plus parents have the opportunity to connect with other parents in the trenches alongside them. We believe that this journey is more rewarding as a community. After all, it takes a village and each person has something unique and meaningful to add. Pastor Mycah McNett explained, "There is wisdom each of us brings as we read the Bible, learn the stories, and think about faith questions together.” She is so excited to see how God shows up in each person this fall.

Every Sunday after worship, kids age 2 through 6th grade gather in various classrooms to build relationships and grow in their faith with our caring leaders in our Sunday School program. Kids enjoy games, playtime, lively music, and crafts in a safe, caring environment (Parents can rest assured that teachers are all background checked and always work in a team). Our team of teachers are so excited for a wonderful year together. Longtime teacher, Nancy Wood shared, “My favorite part of teaching Sunday School is sharing God’s love with the kids in creative, meaningful experiences to help the kids know and share that LOVE with others.” Saint Luke Kids Sunday School starts up again this fall on September 17. Classes run during the education year, each Sunday from 10:45-11:45am. This program is free and is open to the community.

Families are also invited to join the fun at any of our Saint Luke Kids special events through out the year. Be sure to keep an eye out for great events such as our Macaroni and Cheese Game Night, Costume Campfire Cookout, and annual Christmas Pageant.
