There will be more activities available in Wilson Farm Park, Tredyffrin Township, thanks to a $1.02 million grant from the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

The grant includes funding for a spray park to cool off and tennis and pickleball courts.
Pickleball is a popular sport in the retirement community and is a mix of tennis, badminton and ping-pong.
Players use paddle balls and play on courts much smaller than tennis courts.
The grant will also fund renovations of the amphitheater, seating areas, pavilions, concession stand, baseball field and pond area, additional lighting and landscaping and additional access in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
State Rep. Melissa Shusterman, a Chester County Democrat, said the Wilson Park program is included in a $1.16M million grant package that also includes $60,000 to upgrade Chester County trails and $80,000 to upgrade Chester County’s River Conservation Plan.
“The funding will have a lasting impact on our communities,” Shusterman wrote her winter newsletter. “When we invest in green spaces, we invest in the health and well being of everyone in our community.”
