Harvest Book Company: We opened in 1989 and moved to Upper Dublin in 1997.
UDP: Who is your ideal client or customer?
HBC: Our ideal customer is someone who loves books and has a collection that needs a new home or is looking for an unusual book.
UDP: What makes your business unique from others in your field?
HBC: We are the largest book buyer in the Delaware Valley buying thousands of books each week, Used booksellers are disappearing. Not Us!
UDP: What made you decide to open a business?
HBC: We decided to open because my wife was an English major and we had romantic ideas about bookshops, cups of tea, cats etc.
UDP: What’s your most popular item?
HBC: We put out 1000 new bargain books every Saturday and they always attract a crowd of regulars and new readers.
UDP: What makes your community special?
HBC: We have the best customers. Everyone brings his or her own interests and mingles that with the great flow of books that passes through this place. The mixture is the magic.
Harvest Book Company, located at 185 Commerce Dr., in Fort Washington, is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Learn more about Harvest Book Company on their website and on their Facebook page.
