Bus Aide Sexually Assaulted Montco Elementary Students: School District
Kenneth Cannon, a bus aide in Upper Dublin, is facing serious charges relating to alleged sexual assault of elementary school students.
UPPER DUBLIN, PA — An elementary bus aide in this eastern Montgomery County community is facing serious criminal charges over the alleged sexual assault of two young students.
The Upper Dublin School District announced Wednesday evening that Kenneth Cannon was arrested and charged with various offenses relating to incidents of being inappropriate with two students and corrupting minors during incidents that allegedly took place in February and May of this year.
The district made the announcement on its website. It said it learned of the allegations against Cannon back in late May.

"This remains a personnel and police matter; therefore we are unable to make any additional comments at this time," the district stated in its announcement. "The safety of our students is always our top priority. The District will not tolerate conduct that adversely affects our ability to provide students with safe, secure environments. The District will continue to cooperate fully with authorities as this situation develops."
The district stated that Cannon, who was a bus aide who assisted in the transporting of students to and from both Thomas Fitzwater and Jarrettown Elementary Schools, was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the police investigation.

He has not been working at the district since May 26.
Also placed on leave was the unnamed bus driver that worked the routes on which Cannon rode.
Court records show that Cannon was arraigned on various criminal charges Wednesday evening before Magisterial District Court Judge Albert Augustine, who set bail at 10 percent of $5,000.
He has been charged with felony counts of corruption of minors and intercourse/sexual contact with students, as well as misdemeanor counts of indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age, endangering the welfare of children and related counts.
Patch was not immediately able to obtain a copy of the criminal complaint in the case, but will bring you additional details on the nature of the allegations as soon as possible.
Court records show that Cannon has been scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Aug. 12 in Magisterial District Court.
Records show that Cannon is 71 years old and resides in Willow Grove.
He does not yet appear to have an attorney of record.
