Cops: Upper Dublin Man Falls Asleep on Sidewalk, Cited for Being Drunk

Ambler Borough Police said a sidewalk was the perfect bed for an Upper Dublin man last week.

Edward Madden, 56, of the 1000 block of Dillon Road, was arrested and cited for public drunkenness during the day of May 29 after police found him allegedly sleepign on the sidewalk at Butler Avenue and Main Street, police said.

Officers spoke with Madden and allegedly smelled alcohol on him, police said. Madden also had bloodshot eyes and allegedly had slurred speech, police said.

Madden was taken into custody and held at Ambler Borough Police department until sober, police said.
