Moving Truck Too Short for Railroad Overpass

The box truck was too tall for the railroad overpass.

On June 11, Upper Dublin Police Officers responded to an accident at the Norfolk Southern Rail Overpass at Camphill Rd. According to the police report, a 13 foot tall box truck hit the bridge, which was marked with a posted clearance of 11 feet, 9 inches, and "shearing the roof off the rented Penske truck."

The driver, Michael Milhelm, of Powhatan, VA, told police he must have made a wrong turn heading back to the Best Western Hotel and in turn, wound up hitting the bridge.

According to the police report, the Norfolk Southern bridge sustained heavy scraping to the stonework, however, there were no injuries as a result of the accident.
