PA Turnpike Eastbound Shuts Down Due To Tanker Truck Crash

A tanker truck crashed on the eastbound lanes of the PA Turnpike a little after 5 p.m. causing traffic disruption.

FORT WASHINGTON, PA — A tanker truck crashed just after 5 p.m. on the eastbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, according to media reports and emergency alerts.

The crash occurred near mile-marker 337, and traffic closures were instituted at the Norristown exit (333) on the eastbound lanes, and also at the westbound lanes near the Fort Washington interchange (339), according to an alert from the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Channel 6 ABC Action News had video of foam being deployed by firefighters on the truck, which can be seen laying across the road on its side.
