Authorities allege that Cannon had students sit on his lap during bus routes to and from school, and that he sexually fondled some of those young children.

Court records show that all but two of the original charges lodged against Cannon were held over for trial at Montgomery County Common Pleas Court following a recent preliminary hearing.

They were felony counts of corruption of minors, intercourse/sexual contact with students, and criminal attempt-corruption of minors, as well as misdemeanor counts of indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age and endangering the welfare of children.

Cannon's next court appearance is a scheduled formal arraignment slated for Sept. 21 in Common Pleas Court.
