Upper Dublin Sports: Girls LAX Outlasts Downington West, 20-11

Kelly Cross leads the Flying Cardinals to a first-round playoff victory over Downington West.

Still riding their momentum from going undefeated in league-play, the Upper Dublin girls lacrosse team defeated Downington West, 20-11, in the first round of district playoffs on Tuesday afternoon.

Kelly Cross lead the way with six goals and four assists, and Michele DeVincent added another four goals and an assist. Emily Hitchings and Taylor D'Ginto had three goals a piece, and Julie Cross, Brooke Callahan and Anna Trentini rounded out the scoring for the Flying Cards.

Freshman netminder Sarah Gallagher had seven saves for the Upper Dublin squad, who will face a rematch with Conestoga on Thursday. THe Flying Cards lost their regular-season matchup with Conestoga, 14-9.
