Vehicle Crashes Into Pole, Erupts In Flames In Montgomery County

The crash, involving a van or small bus, occurred late Monday afternoon in Upper Dublin Township. Everyone involved appeared to be OK.

UPPER DUBLIN TOWNSHIP, PA — A vehicle crashed into a utility pole and broke out in flames during a late Monday afternoon incident in Upper Dublin Township, according to media reports and local emergency officials.

The crash, which involved a small bus or van, took place around 4 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Fort Washington Avenue and Susquehanna Road.

The Upper Dublin Township Police Department posted to social media that the intersection had remained temporarily closed to the crash, which had involved down electrical wires.

Emergency officials said that the road would possibly be closed all the way up to the overnight hours and perhaps even into early Tuesday so that utility crews could begin the repair process.

Video from NBC 10 Philadelphia showed the van or small bus with its front end smashed into the utility pole.

The report said that no one who had been involved in the crash appeared to be injured or in need of medical care.
