Woman Who Broke Into Upper Dublin Shed, Returned, Sentenced To Jail

Local residents caught the woman on security cameras twice within one week.

UPPER DUBLIN, PA — A woman has been sentenced to jail after breaking into a home in Upper Dublin and stealing numerous items, police said.

Dana Reichart, 35, of Philadelphia, will spend the next 11.5 to 23 months behind bars, court documents show.

The incidents occurred in June 2022.

Reichart broke into a shed on the 100 block of Creek Drive in the Ambler section and took multiple bicycles, a drill, a generator, and other items, according to police.

She then returned two nights later and was lurking by a nearby home, and then near the original shed she stole from, when neighbors spotted her and called 911, authorities said.

Residents knew to be on the lookout for the woman after reviewing surveillance footage.

"This case is a great example of how the vigilance of our homeowners and the footage from surveillance cameras can help combat crime in our community and bring justice for crime victims," Upper Dublin police said in a statement.

Reichart pleaded down to charges of theft by unlawful taking, criminal trespass, and related counts. She also faces three years probation.
