2 Killed In PA Turnpike Crash Were Racing: Police
The crash shut down the highway for hours.

WILLOW GROVE, PA — Two people were killed in a crash on I-276 over the weekend while street racing, according to authorities and news reports.
The incident occurred between the Willow Grove and Fort Washington exits just after 3 a.m. Sunday morning.
Two vehicles were going at a high rate of speed when they lost control and slammed into the highway barriers, officials said.

The drivers of both vehicles were declared dead at the scene, 6ABC and NBC 10report.
Passengers of a third vehicle that became involved in the crash suffered minor injuries, state police said.

Turnpike officials said the eastbound lanes of the highway were shut down for hours as crews investigated and worked to clean up the scene.
An investigation is ongoing.
