Jasmine learned about the programs at EASTERN through tours arranged through Abington High School. As someone who has always been interested in many forms of art, she found the Design, Photography, and Illustration program to fit best into her future in the fashion industry.
At EASTERN, she was selected by her instructor to be the class representative for SkillsUSA,
EASTERN’s student leadership organization, and was chosen to attend the Career and Technical Student Organization Fall Leadership Conference in November 2021. Jasmine received third place in the SkillsUSA Local Competition for Job Interview in November 2021, and third place in the SkillsUSA State Competition for T-Shirt Design in April 2022. At EASTERN’s Awards Night in May 2022, Jasmine received the Straight A Award, and the prestigious Director’s Award. At Abington Senior High School, she was the President of the National Junior Honor Society from September 2019 through October 2020, participates in the Student Inclusion Mission, and is a member of the Key Club. Outside of school, she is a competitive ballroom dancer.

She has a strong sense of volunteerism and has spent time as a volunteer dance camp counselor, creating greeting cards for Veterans, and she participates in the Peyton Heart Project - an organization that helps raise global awareness about suicide, and bullying, and is helping to end the stigma surrounding mental health issues.
“Jasmine is a strong leader who is always looking for new challenges,” said Nicole Abruzzi, EASTERN’s Design, Photography, and Illustration program Instructor. “Not only does she excel in the program, but she exhibits strong communication skills, kindness, and compassion toward her peers.”
After graduation, she plans to attend postsecondary for fashion design or fashion journalism. Her top college picks are Moore College of Art and Design, Fashion Institute of Technology, Parsons School of Design, and the Pratt Institute. Ultimately, she would like to pursue a successful career in fashion for a large company such as Gucci or Louis Vuitton.
