Meet Your Patch Advertising Sales Manager: Jeff Elias
Jeff combines his advertising experience and love of highly competitive sports to help clients toward their goals.

Ever since Patch Advertising Sales Manager Jeff Elias could recall, the rush of competitive playing has always held a strong interest for him.
“My dad was a hockey fan from the time I was born,” Jeff said. “So, I started playing at a very young age and just fell in love with the sport.”
Jeff, who was born and raised in Long Island, NY, played hockey throughout high school. He also played throughout his college career at the State University of New York at Buffalo (UB), where he pursued Finance and Management Information Systems for his undergraduate studies.

“When I played for my school in college, we built up rivalries with other colleges that we played against year after year,” Jeff said, adding with pride, “and, we just always wanted to dominate them.”
Jeff was team captain for three of the five years he played roller hockey for UB. During his tenure at UB, Jeff would help lead his team to win two regional championships, be voted as an All-American, as well as second team All-American; and make it on the college’s All-Star team, four of the five years he played.

“When I was playing for UB, I had no other alternative in mind than to go out there and help my team in whatever way, shape or form was needed,” Jeff said.
After graduating in 2009, Jeff continued his studies the following year, and attained a Master of Science degree from UB in Financial Management.
Patch Advertising: A Team-Effort toward One Goal
Through his participation in college-level hockey, Jeff explained that he learned several qualities that translate well into his current role as an advertising sales manager for Patch.
“I did also learn many of the leadership qualities I have today,” Jeff said, referring to his time as a team captain.
He added that working with advertising clients is much like being on a team, in which motivating each other and giving 100-percent to the goal is a big part of a team’s success.
“Advertising allows us to provide business with ways to help them reach their goals,” Jeff said. “Advertising managers are here to help the best interest of the businesses we are working with, and putting them in the best position possible.”
Jeff, who has worked for Patch since November 2011, said that the online news publication has been a great source for local communities, adding that Patch provides news and information that are focused on and unique to its community’s readers.
He adds that Patch has provided him with a great working experience, as he and his co-workers have taken to heart a one-team, one-goal mentality in order to help their clients get into the best advertising position possible.
“Advertising on Patch puts your business in front of your direct local market ‘24/7’ to those people who live within the 10-mile radius that will visit your business,” Jeff explained. “It creates a great branding image and is a great way to attract new customers or clients.”
Jeff said that he would welcome the opportunity to speak with any business owner or employer in Eastern Montgomery or Bucks counties.
“I will take the time to learn about their current business model and what they are looking to accomplish,” Jeff said. “And, I’ll provide them with multiple options that I believe will help them achieve their end goal.”
And, while Jeff has kept himself busy by leading Patch advertisers toward achieving their own business goals, he still finds time to pursue his longtime interest.
“I still play hockey and roller hockey week after week,” Jeff said, adding that he also helped instruct youth inline and roller hockey during high school. “And, if the opportunity arose for me to start instructing again, I would love to.”
