Two State Reps. From Montgomery County Are Jointly Sponsoring A Fair For Seniors
The senior fair, hosted by State Reps. Nancy Guenst & Ben Sanchez of Montgomery County, takes place on April 29 at the Willow Grove Giant.
WILLOW GROVE, PA — Two area state legislators are jointly hosting a senior fair at the end of the month.
State Reps. Nancy Guenst and Ben Sanchez, both Montgomery County Democrats, are co-hosting the event on April 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Giant supermarket at 315 York Road in Willow Grove, the lawmakers' offices announced.
During the program, older adults, along with family members and caregivers, will be given information and resources on a host of issues, such as health care, nutrition, transportation, volunteer opportunities, identity theft protection and more.

"I'm pleased to work with Representative Sanchez to provide resources to older adults in our community so that they can maintain active and healthy lifestyles," Guenst said in a statement.
"This event will be a one-stop shop for state, county and local information on a wide variety of topics that affect seniors every day, and I look forward to helping community members find the information they need," added Sanchez.

Representatives from various federal, state and local agencies, as well as those from different organizations catering to seniors, are expected to be on hand during the program.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and booster shot, as well as the pneumonia, 65+ flu, shingles, TDAP and HepB vaccines.
Anyone who may want to get a vaccine during the program is encouraged to call Guenst's office at 215-259-5962 to pre-register since stock may be limited.
According to an article on the website Stacker, Pennsylvania ranks around number seven in senior population across the U.S., with senior citizens accounting for around 17.4 of the overall state population, or 14.1 percent above the national average.
By comparison, Florida, which ranks in at number one, has just over 4 million seniors, with the senior population standing around 19.7 of the state's total population.
