Montco Town Sees Dozens Of Vehicle Break-Ins Within 2 Hours: Police
Several nearby communities have suffered similar crimes, police said.

CHELTENHAM, PA — A rash of vehicle break-ins in one Montgomery County town has left residents and law enforcement reeling and warning the public to take additional precautions.
Police in Cheltenham Township said that 35 vehicles were smashed into in a period of less than two hours on Sunday, June 16.
Authorities said that in addition to that string of thefts, there has been a general increase in vehicle break-ins across the township and in nearby municipalities.

"We are actively working with neighboring jurisdictions who have also been experiencing these types of incidents and are currently investigating leads and tips we have received," the Cheltenham Police Department said in a statement.
6ABC reports that detectives believe two individuals are behind the crimes, but that vehicles did not have anything missing. All the vehicles had a window broken, NBC10 reports.

Authorities offered the following tips to residents to keep their property secure:
- Don't make yourself an easy target and remove anything of value from your vehicle.
- If you see somebody suspicious near a parked vehicle, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY.
