Officers Shoot, Kill Armed Man Inside Montgomery County Apartment: DA
One man is dead after police responded to a domestic disturbance over the weekend, authorities said.

UPPER MORELAND, PA — Police shot and killed a man inside an Upper Moreland on Sunday, authorities said.
The incident occurred at the Commerce Square Apartments, in the Willow Grove section of the township, at around 11:52 a.m.
An 83-year-old woman called to report a domestic disturbance, drawing two Upper Moreland officers to the scene, the DA's office said.

When officers arrived, they were let in by the woman, and then immediately saw a 68-year-old man armed with a handgun, according to police.
Officers ordered him to drop the firearm and he refused, and eventually began to raise the weapon up, authorities said.

That's when police opened fire, fatally wounding the man, the DA's office said.
Montgomery County Detectives are investigating the incident and the justification of lethal force, as they do all officer-involved shootings.
The victim has not yet been identified.
