Roads Closed, Traffic Signals Out In Upper, Lower Moreland
The severe storms that swept through the area Thursday caused some significant damage, leaving thousands without power.

UPPER MORELAND, PA — The severe storms that swept through the area Thursday caused some significant damage in the Upper Moreland and Lower Moreland areas, knocking out power for tens of thousands of residents.
Traffic signals are out in several areas, officials said. This means that drivers should treat those intersections like stop signs.
The storm also knocked out power to key locations, like the Lower Moreland Police station.

In Montgomery County, a total of 47,218 residents are without power.
Upper Moreland is amongst the hardest hit, with 3,173 outages as of Friday morning. Lower Moreland has 2,350.

Red Lion Road is shut down between Pine Road and Philmont Avenue, while Welsh Road is also closed near Station Avenue.
"Due to the storm that passed through our region this evening, UMPD and UMFD are working to clear roadways and get traffic lights back up and running," Upper Moreland police said. "PECO has been advised of storm damage impacting the area and are estimating 1-3 days for repairs."
