School Board Resignation In Upper Moreland Creates Open Seat
Upper Moreland School Board President Cherie Kuech has resigned, and the board is now looking for a replacement.

UPPER MORELAND, PA — A local school director has resigned her position and the board is now seeking candidates for her replacement.
The Upper Moreland Township School District announced this week that it has received a letter of resignation from board member Cherie Kuech, and that the school board is now seeking resumes from qualified residents who wish to serve on the panel.
The new board member would serve out the balance of Kuech's four-year term that would end the first Monday of December 2023.

Kuech is listed as the current board president. There was no reason given for her resignation.
To be eligible for the position, candidates must be at least 18 years of age and have resided within the school district for at least one year prior to the date of his or her election or appointment, according to the Pennsylvania Public School Code.

Anyone interested in applying for the position can sent a cover letter and resume to Upper Moreland Superintendent Susan Elliot at the Upper Moreland Township School District Administration Building, 2900 Terwood Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090.
Applications must be submitted no later than noon on Sept. 1.

Those candidates who make the final cut will be invited to speak about their qualifications during the school board's public meeting on Sept. 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the Teaching and Learning Center II at the Upper Moreland Intermediate School, 3990 Orangemans Road in Hatboro.
The school board is expected to choose a candidate following that Sept. 13 meeting.
