UMHS Boys Track Dominates at District Finals
This weekend the Upper Moreland High school boys track team earned several medals at this past weekend's Distrct One Track meet.
According to the Upper Moreland School District announcement sent today, congratulations are in order for the boys track team as they dominated in the District One track meet finals this past weekend. Medal winners included:
- Jacob Soltis earning 7th in the Long Jump
- Tyler Whitmore earning 6th in the 100 meter and 7th in the 200 meter.
Tyler, as a freshman, has the school record in both events, and is ranked number one freshman in PA for both the 100 and 200 Meter Dash.
Improving upon his previous District record, Drew Magaha took home the Gold in the 1600M with a time of 4 minutes and 8.94 seconds.

Drew is currently ranked number one in the state in the 1600M, and although he won't be competing in the 800M run at States, he remains the number one ranked competitor in the country in the 800M.
The Upper Moreland school community wishes him well as he heads to Shippensburg to defend his State Title and as he competes at Nationals in the 800M later in June.
