Susan K. Elliott Is Named New Superintendent Of The Upper Moreland School District

UPPER MORELAND, PA — The Upper Moreland Township School District has named a new superintendent of schools.

The district announced this week that Susan K. Elliott has been brought on as the new top administrator, with the school board voting Tuesday evening to appoint the longtime educator to the position of superintendent.

"After an extensive search, we are pleased to name Dr. Elliott as the next superintendent of the Upper Moreland Township School District, Cherie Kuech, school board president, said in a statement. "As a board, we have been incredibly impressed with Dr. Elliott's ability to keep students at the center of the learning process as she has fostered high levels of collaboration among teachers, staff, families and community members. She will be an excellent choice as we look to the future of our high-performing school district."

Elliott, who most recently served as the interim superintendent of schools at the Council Rock School District in neighboring Bucks County, has a long and accomplished career in public education, according to a bio provided by Upper Moreland.

She has experience as a language arts supervisor, reading specialist, instructional support team teacher, lead trainer and kindergarten, first-grade and reading recovery teacher, her bio states.

Elliott possesses a Doctor of Education in reading, writing and literacy from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master's Degree in education from Penn State University, and a Bachelor's Degree in elementary and early childhood education from Millersville University.

Elliott will be replacing William N. Kiefer, who has been the district's interim superintendent since January.
