New details were released Friday on the crash involving a BMW hitting a Bucks County daycare.

UPPER SOUTHAMPTON, PA — One of five children hurt when a BMW crashed into their Bucks County daycare center remained hospitalized Friday afternoon, while the other four had been released, the Bucks County District Attorney said.

Authorities were continuing Friday to investigate the crash, which happened at 1:30 p.m. at the Children of America childcare center, on Knowles Avenue in Upper Southampton.

The Bucks County District Attorney's Office said Friday that three of the four children taken to a hospital by ambulance, and one who was taken separately to the hospital for treatment, had been released. The child still in the hospital has serious injuries, according to the DA's office.

According to authorities, the black BMW crashed through a wall of a classroom Thursday. After traveling through the classroom, where 17 children had been napping, the BMW struck a back wall of the room.

Police have reached out to the parents of all 17 children, according to the DA's office, to check on their well-being. Counseling services are being made available through the Victim Assistance network.

The DA's office said Friday that a criminal investigation into the crash is expected to last at least several days.
